My heart is saddened to hear about Carol. I worked with her when our building was open. She was always the nicest person with a smile that could light up a room! Rest In Peace my friend!

Everyone called her their best friend and she treated everyone like they were. 

I know she’s upstairs singing in the choir and making the rhythms meet the blues.

My dear Carol, words just cannot express my deep sorrow for passing. 

Carol and I met at Alpha Commercial College in 1976 and became fast friends. Just being around her made me happy she had such a beautiful smile and an infectious laughter. We kept in touch 
after leaving Alpha for a number of years even when we both moved to the U.S. but then lost touch for many years. 

However, I would always think of Carol and finally we reconnected through FB a few years ago and it was as if no time had passed. We spoke quite often but in recent times communicated mainly by text up until this past August.  I will miss her laughter and warm spirit. 

My sincere condolences to her family and fiancé. May her soul Rest In Peace. 🙏🏽

I met Carol in 1968 when we entered Form 1A at St. Andrew High School for Girls.  Since we were seated alphabetically by our surnames, Carol was seated in the row to my immediate left.
Carol was friendly, happy, had a sweet spirit and a ready smile! We matriculated together through Fifth Form. After that I lost contact with Carol, but was kept abreast of all the happenings in her life by Vivienne.
I extend my deepest sympathies to Carol’s siblings, her fiancé, extended family and friends. May these words of scripture comfort and strengthen you today, and in the days, weeks, months and years ahead.

“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted “ Mt. 5:4

My deep condolences to Carol’s family - truly very sorry for your loss. Carol and I go back to our days at St. Andrew High when we would walk home together.  Those were fond days and memories.  Carol was always such a joy to be around and very easy to talk with.
Carol and I reconnected in 2020 via voice mail and I am so very sorry that we didn’t connect directly.  One always thinks that there is more time.
I trust that your fond memories of Carol and our Creator’s promise of a resurrection (John 5:28,29) will bring you some measure of comfort at this most difficult time.

Until a few weeks ago, whenever I thought of you my automatic reaction was to smile, and then I might remember a particular incident (oh, there were some doosies!) and end up laughing out loud. However, in the past few weeks my thoughts of you have been more sorrow-filled – at the things that we talked about doing (along with Lor) and now won't get to do; not being able to grow older together, but overwhelmingly that I now live in a world in which you exist only in memories. But the joy that you gave will be with me always.

I know you continue to be surrounded by love and to bring joy to those around you, if on another plane.  Be at peace Cee.

My deepest sympathy to Carol’s family, fiancé and friends.  

Carol (CeeSpee), my friend, my sister.  Since hearing about your transition, I have been numb, distracted and still unable to cry.  I’m processing this “reality” rather slowly.

We have been friends since 1968 when we met in first form at St. Andrew High School.   We have gone through these 50 something years sharing a lot – the good, not so good and bad experiences; achievements, disappointments, plans and lots of laughter about very silly things.  We were there for each other.  Even when we re-connected after not being in touch for a while, it was as if there was no time gap.  We shared a mutual love and respect for each other.  One of the main things I loved about Carol is that she cared… especially about people.

I recently got the opportunity to tell her that I love her.  We disagreed on a hot issue in 2020 and when we realized that neither of us would win the argument, I told her I love her and we agreed to maintain our respective side of the argument.  We had a really good laugh about the disagreement and how it ended.  That was Carol – never confrontational, always trying to find solutions.  Always, always there to listen.

As everyone knows, she was passionate about music and I am so happy that she got the chance to pursue writing and singing over the last few years.  She was so excited about the various projects.  She would share her recordings and ask for my opinion.  In 2019, she was so excited to release her first official single….. her own composition.  Excitement!!!  She was so happy.

There is so much to say about my friend, but right now less is more.

Condolences to Carol’s family.  May she rest in perfect peace.  I look at her smile and I am immediately taken back to our high school days.  Carol was always a genuinely sweet person.  I honestly cannot remember any negativity surrounding her.  My fondest memory of her was our meetings at Premier Theater on some Saturday mornings for the matinee showings.  I truly regret missing out on more of her light.  We always believe that we have time to reconnect and sadly we don’t.  Life can end in the blink of an eye.  I am however grateful that our lives crossed paths, if only for a short period of time.  I hope her family will find peace in reliving the joy that I’m sure her life brought to them. 


On behalf of the Fraternity' of former employees of The Jamaica Telephone Company, I wish to extend heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of our dear former colleague and friend. Carol worked in the New Kingston  Human Resource Department, late 1970s prior to migrating to the United States.
 She was a beautiful, cheerful and ever smiling young lady who made many dear and lasting friends. We remember her fondly and are deeply saddened to learn that she has passed. 
May Her Soul Rest In Peace.

My condolences to Carol’s entire family, her fiancé, and many friends.

When I think of love I think of cee spee. We got engaged 5 days before she passed away. We would just sit in my car and talk about everything. I know that I’m writing a memoir but cee spee was a memoir of her beautiful stories she used to tell me. We would park At Walgreens and we called it our home away from home. My woman was a beautiful soul inside and out and everywhere she went she touched a soul cause that’s how beautiful she was!! I lost my brother this year too but this hits me the hardest losing my fiancé. We were deeply in love and what I loved about her the most is she did not judge me and just wanted me to be happy. Well I can firmly say Carol Spence brought happiness in my heart and soul. If I was having a down day all I had to do was call her and it’s like I’d be brought to life again, that is how powerful her voice was and her caring nature. She had a beautiful voice and we made almost 100 songs together. Carol will still be loved and my heart is broken. But one thing I want to let everyone know is she is still very much alive, that is one good thing about music. Like my brother all I have to do is put one of her songs on and I know I’ll be okay.
