Elinor Lawhorn, a gift to all who knew and loved her during her lifetime, passed away on August 13, 2024 at Tradition Hospital in Port St. Lucie, Florida surrounded by loving friends and family. Elinor was born June 24, 1932, in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School where she worked after graduation.
She lived and traveled throughout the United States and Europe supporting her husband, Douglas' military career and raising three children, Mark Dennis, Shelly Raines (Wayne) and Karen Bartlett (Kenny). She made fast friends wherever she moved and remained in contact and cherished all of her friends throughout her long life. She made the world a better place with her kindness.
During the moving years she also worked at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Fort Jackson, Raymark and Patrick Air Force Base.
She is survived by her daughters, cherished niece, Carla Manuel and many great nieces and nephews. In memory of Elinor and in lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or Tunnel2Towers Foundation.
