Mrs. Janice E. Garvey

Janice Marion Garvey (nee English), 83, died February 26, 2016 at Hospice House in Stuart, FL. Mrs. Garvey was born in Yonkers, NY, and had been a resident of Port St. Lucie, FL for 19 years. A graduate of Blessed Sacrament Academy and the Katherine Gibbs School she held several executive secretary positions while in New York. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she was also a true friend to many. She was very active in her community and with her church; the Council of Catholic Women, bingo, luncheons, bake sales, and a volunteer for the Holy Family Thrift Store. She was also a member of the St. Lucie Red Hat Society and she was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church Port St. Lucie, FL. Her loving husband of 55 years, Allan, predeceased her in 2009. Survivors include daughter Meg Seman and husband Kevin of Palm City, FL; their children Shannon, Tierney, and Daniel; a son Kevin Garvey and wife Elaine of New York, NY and their daughter Victoria. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Aycock FH-Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel, 1170 SW Bayshore Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Holy Family Catholic Church,2330 SE Mariposa Avenue, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983, Tel # (772) 995-2385Memorial Contributions may be made to Hay Madeira Hospice House in Memory of Mrs. Garvey.
