She was the daughter of Joseph and Marie Pietrantuono.
She was married to Micheal Motto her high school sweetheart (who predeceased her in 2022) for over 60 years.
She is survived by her brother and sister, John Pietrantuono and Judy Roberts and her three children Michael Motto (Jennifer Motto), Rene Motto (Dennis Keane ) and Elizabeth Barbella (Steven Barbella) and grandchildren Heather LaSasso (Steven LaSasso), Joshua Orlandi (Mercy Orlandi), Michael Motto IV, Gianna Motto and Sophia Trout (Caleb Trout) and her great grandchildren Jenna LaSasso and Rae Orlandi. She was also a treasured aunt and cousin to many.
After raising her children, Joanna earned her degree and worked as a child development specialist focusing on helping children cope with traumatic life challenges. Throughout her entire life Joanna used her exceptional design and decorating skills to turn every house she and her husband built or renovated into a home. She loved to garden and read. And above all she loved her family. She was braver than she knew and both a gentle soul and a force to be reckoned with. We called her mommy, grandma, g-ma, aunt and later in life she earned the title of family matriarch. Her caregivers and friends called her Jo-Jo and brought a smile to her face every day. The family is eternally grateful for every caregiver that was a part of her life.
A service will be held for family and close friends.
