Ken was born on August 19, 1932, to Frederick and Susan Sauvola in Hancock, Michigan. Ken married Marianne McMahon at The Church of the Epiphany in Detroit in 1957. They went on to have six children who each carry his legacy of humor and warmth: Kenneth, Gregory, Richard, Robert, Colleen, and Brian.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Marianne; six children Kenneth (Lynn), Gregory (Sherrie), Richard (Gail), Robert (Patsy), Colleen (Jay), Brian (Rose); and eighteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Ken served in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1956, as Military Police. He also served on the Milford Police force as a police reservist.
