Lawrence Kevin Newman

Lawrence was preceded in death by his daughter, Bernice Newman; parents, Geraldine and John Edwin Newman; brother, Ned Newman; and sister, Sherry Edwards. Lawrence is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Newman; son, John Paul Newman; brother, Fredrick “Rick” Newman; and sisters, Sandy Newman Rosemond and Diane Newman Rise.

Lawrence was born October 17, 1940 in Washington, D.C. and graduated from Suitland High School in 1958. He attended Embry Riddle University and graduated in 1971. He also served 8 years in the United States Navy off the waters of Vietnam on board the aircraft carrier, USS Hornet. Lawrence worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for 20 years in Connecticut and West Palm Beach and was a resident of Port St. Lucie since 1985. He was an avid golfer and parishioner of St. Lucie Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Aycock Funeral Home – Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel, 1170 SW Bayshore Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983, where a gathering will follow services until 3 p.m.
