

The children and their families of R. Laurence Day (Larry Day), born May 21, 1930 in Miami, FL; of Okeechobee, FL and who spent decades in Largo and Clearwater, Florida announce Larry’s promotion to his heavenly home on February 13th 2016 after a short illness. He is survived by his five children; Richard Day (Federal Way, WA), Fred Day (Palm Harbor, FL), Ed Day (Port St Lucie, FL), Ron Day (Seattle, WA) and Linda Jones (Okeechobee, FL) and their respective spouses; his sister Eleanor Troup (Burnsville, NC); nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and Shiloh his best friend and four-legged constant companion the last years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty Day, who he was married to almost 52 years, his Brother David A Day and his parents Elmer L and Marie Day. Larry graduated from Perdue and USC Los Angeles. He loved to tell stories about his years of service as a US Marine Pilot at the close of and after the Korean War. He was a passionate missionary pilot flying into Haiti, Cuba and many other destinations in the Caribbean rim. He was a loving husband, dedicated father and friend of so many. You are invited to a graveside celebration of his home going, at Serenity Gardens in Largo, FL at 11:00AM on Saturday the 5th of March, 2016. The family is requesting NO FLOWERS PLEASE!
