

Arthur “Barney” N. Stilphen, III, age 56, of Center Road, Gray died unexpectedly Friday June 30, 2017 at Maine Medical Center with his family by his side.
He was born in Portland son of Arthur N. Jr, and Joan Butwell where he attended local schools.
Barney was formerly employed at Haskell-Hall for several years and often stated that he learned so much from Joe Malia. He then worked for 30 years for Knowles Industrial Services where he was a dedicated and hardworking employee until his death.
He was a member of the New Gloucester Fraternal Orders of the Eagles. He enjoyed the outdoors especially fishing, dancing and playing Darts.
Barney was also known for his passion to be an active fund raiser for various school and community functions.
Barney was a loving father, grandfather, and a friend to everyone he came in contact with.
Barney leaves 2 sons; Justin Stilphen & his girlfriend Alisha Jordan of Gray, James Stilphen of Mechanic Falls, a daughter, Melissa Boxer of East Baldwin, 3 Sisters; Patricia “Patty” Caruso of Westbrook, Susan Beckwith of Gorham, Donna Devoe of Old Orchard Beach, and 4 Grandchildren; Kyla Hewey, Mason Stilphen, Hunter Stilphen, and Katie Emerton.
Relatives and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Friday July 7, 2017 from 4 to 8PM at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St, Portland. All are invited to attend a Graveside Service to be held Saturday July 8, 2017 at 10AM at Brooklawn Memorial Park, Congress Street, Portland.
