

Portland, ME- The death of Dominic “Dom” John Colucci, age 88, occurred on March 14, 2025 as a result of several health issues while being treated at Sedgewood Commons Nursing Home in Falmouth, ME. Dom was the son of Nicholas D. Colucci, Sr. and Mary T. (Spizzuoco) Colucci. Born at home, the midwives at his birth were his paternal grandmother and his paternal aunt.
Dom attended the Staples School for children with eyesight disabilities and Portland High School. He spent his working career of 42 years at J.J. Nissan Bakery working in the Maintenance Department. One of his favorite life experiences was as a member of the Unity Lodge #3, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows where he made many friends and participated in ongoing events.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Sabato “Sam” and his wife Virginia, and two sisters and a brother who died as infants.
He is survived by his brother Nicholas, his sister-in-law Ara, and their daughter Andriana, and his youngest brother Vincent, all of Portland. Other survivors include his niece and goddaughter, Julie Colucci and her husband Carl Updike of Selbyville, DE; an aunt, Josephine Ricci of Portland and many cousins.
Visiting hours will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Jones, Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St. Portland. A Graveside service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at New Calvary Cemetery in South Portland.
