

Elizabeth spent the majority of her years in her beloved family home in Milton, Massachusetts before moving to Falmouth in 2006. Elizabeth found great satisfaction as a nurse after graduating from Simmons College School of Nursing and Massachusetts General Hospital School of Nursing in 1938. She also received a teaching certificate from Bridgewater State Teacher’s College.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her husband David Edward Hollidge and her sister Francis Currier. Elizabeth and David were members of the East Congregational Church in Milton. More recently, Elizabeth attended the Falmouth Congregational Church in Falmouth, Maine. The Hollidge family enjoyed summer weeks in Derby, Vermont.
Elizabeth was committed to volunteerism throughout her life. As a nurse, she participated in Red Cross blood drives and polio clinics. She taught Sunday school, served as a church deaconess, and was president of the East Church Women’s Society. She enjoyed her work with the Campfire Girls and Women Seaman’s Friend Society, and served twenty years at the Bureau Drawer resale shop run by Interfaith Social Services in Quincy, Massachusetts.
Libby was a devoted friend and family member and made lasting relationships throughout her life. She is survived by her son Edward Hollidge of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; daughter Anne Strout of Falmouth, Maine; granddaughters Amanda Mathiesen, Laurel Regan, and Caitlin Hanlon; great-granddaughter Fiona Aberle; nephew Richard Currier; niece Susan McFarland; and goddaughter Margaret Slade.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, November 8th from 1-3 pm at Jones Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A memorial service will be held in the spring in Milton, Massachusetts.
