

James Leo Ledoux of 148 Summit Street, Portland, Maine and 2560 62nd Ave N, St. Petersburg, Florida, age 69, died peacefully, with his wife, Gloria, by his side, on Sunday, December 15, 2013. He was born in Nashua, New Hampshire on March 4, 1944 to Leo Ledoux and Francis Owens Ledoux. He married Joyce Sebenski of Maryland in 1966. They had two children, Matthew James and Leo James. They were divorced in 1984. James married Gloria Brewer Guy in 1993.
Ledoux left Nashua to join the Army and served in Korea and Hawaii. After leaving the Army, he worked in the insurance business, before starting his own business of White Wing Services. In 2000 James received the call to enter the ministry and enrolled in the Nazarene Bible College on-line classes. After serving as Assistant Pastor in Yarmouth, Pastor Ledoux became Senior Pastor at the Sebago Church of the Nazarene. He also served as Interim Pastor at the Brunswick Church of the Nazarene and the Gardner Church of the Nazarene. In 2012 Pastor Ledoux and his wife moved to Florida where he took up the duties of Pastor for the seniors attending Victory Church of the Nazarene in St. Petersburg.
In his younger days, Ledoux was a member of a barber shop quartet; coached Cape Elizabeth Little League and received the Umpire of the Year Award in 1983. He was a volunteer for the Cape Elizabeth Fire and Rescue for many years; a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Kora Temple Shrine as well as a Past Patron of Eastern Star, and very active in Boy Scouts. Over the past 20 years, Pastor Ledoux was a volunteer at the Root Cellar, visiting Pastor at the Portland Center for Assisted Living, and was a volunteer Trauma Chaplin at Maine Medical Center until moving to Florida. He was a member of AA for over 40 years. His love of the Maine outdoors included skiing, hunting, and a passion for fishing. He loved gardening and enjoyed growing his own vegetables.
In recent years Pastor Ledoux and Gloria were part of a mission team sent to Venezuela and he traveled to Haiti as part of the Nazarene relief efforts for that country. Until his move to Florida, he was Director and then Co-Director of the Nazarene Kids Camp held at More-To-Life Campground in Winthrop, Maine.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria, two sons, Matthew and Leo, two stepchildren, Heather Munsen and Jason Whitekettle, and grandchildren Brandon Ledoux, Katie Ledoux, Alyssa McFaul, Andrew McFaul, Sophia McFaul, Micah McFaul and Gloria McFaul.
He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Ledoux and his wife Marilyn, Daniel Ledoux, Neil Ledoux and his wife, Patty; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of his life will be held at the South Portland Church of the Nazarene, 525 Highland Ave, South Portland, ME., Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will be held in the spring at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the USO or ME. District Nazarene Kid’s Camp.
