Josephine E. Allen

PORTLAND -- Josephine E. Allen, 91, died Tuesday. She was born May 2, 1921 a daughter of the late Louis and Antoinette Vacchiano Tripaldi. She attended local schools, graduating from Portland High School. She was a member of the Emblem Club and a communicant of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing golf and especially the time spent with her family, with her grandchildren being the loves of her life.

Her husband, Colman Clifford Allen died in 1977. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Victor, Augustine and John and her sisters, Mary Rich and Rose DeRice.

She is survived by a son, Clifford C. 'Chuck' Allen of Gray; daughter, Antoinette 'Toni' Pierce and her husband, Sidney of Windham; sister Anna Dell Aquilla of Portland; grandchildren Jessica Allen, Matt Allen, Chris Pierce and his wife Heidi and Seth Pierce; great grandchildren Julianna Scott and Owen Pierce and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland, Monday 9-10:30 a.m. to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1342 Congress St. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery, So.
