

surrounded by loving family and friends. The daughter of Frederick S. Tague and Edith (Fernald) Tague, she was born on October 12, 1931 in Stanford, CT. She moved to Portland, Me, attended local schools, graduating from Portland High School.
Larayne met and married Donald H. Mears Jr. in Portland, ME. on November 5, 1949. They raised their family in Portland, ME.
For over 20 years, Larayne was employed at Maine Medical Center, as a medical secretary for Dr. Philip Lape, M.D. She continued working in the medical field until her retirement.
For many years Larayne was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Portland, where every Sunday she sang as a soloist on WGAN live radio. She later attended Royal Ridge Church of Scarborough, where she was an active member of the choir.
Her greatest joys were family, music, and singing. She took voice lessons in Boston, and sang professionally at weddings and also with the Portland Symphony choir.
Larayne is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald H. Mears Jr. of Portland, her daughter Diane (Mears) Herrick, also of Portland, several cousins, her caregiver Kim Tanner, and her grand- dog, Mellon.
