Lloyd was born in 1953 in Portland, Maine. He grew up with his very loving mother, Florence, his father, and five siblings. The family resided throughout various parts of Maine and New Jersey.
On January 15, 1977, Lloyd married Melanie Beth Giberson in Westbrook, Maine. Lloyd was a very hard worker, holding positions throughout the years at various companies, including Grossman’s Lumber, Hillside Lumber, Paradigm Window Solutions and, most recently, Hammond Lumber.
Lloyd loved music, particularly The Beatles. He had a passion for antiques, collectibles, and cars. He enjoyed being outdoors - walking and running, watching the sun rise and set, and sharing it with his wife. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with the people he loved (especially when it involved sharing sweets).
Lloyd’s passing was preceded by his mother, Florence Seavey, whom he cared for deeply, and his wonderful step-father, Arno Seavey. He is survived by his loving wife, Melanie; children, Liam Hunter and girlfriend Katie Mortenson, and Ian Hunter and wife Sara; grandchildren, Isaac Hunter and Olivia Hunter; siblings, Carol Doherty, Betty Hoodiman, Glenda Parra, David Hunter, and John Hunter; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Jones-Rich-Hutchins Funeral Home in Portland, ME. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home starting at 2:00pm.
In remembrance of Lloyd, his family would like to share a thought from one of his favorite songs:
And when the night is cloudy
There is still a light that shines on me
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music,
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Arrangements under the direction of Jones-Rich-Hutchins Funeral Home, Portland, ME.
