PORTLAND – Lorna A. Young, widow of John Charles Young, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Bowdoin the only child of the late George W. and Leona Nauer Brown.
Her childhood was spent in Lisbon Falls with her grandparents where she graduated from high school in 1942. She and Mr. Young were married in 1955 and moved to Portland in 1969 making it their home.
Mrs. Young was a member of Rainbow United Methodist Church. Before her marriage to Mr. Young, she worked for the Maine State Department of Health and Welfare as a clerk and for many years after her marriage worked for a local tree farm as a secretary. Mrs. Young had a caring and gentle heart; she liked everyone and gave of herself to anyone.
She is survived by many loving cousins and dear friends.
Graveside service will be in the spring.
