Cumberland- Mary Anita Powers, 77, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on February 23, 2024. The daughter of William and Rose Mary (Shanks) Cherniske, she was born in New Milford, CT on May 20, 1946. She loved to garden, and spend time by the ocean. She was a deep lady of faith, and she loved the Lord.
Mary is survived by her husband of 34 years John Edward Powers, her children, Michael D. Morey, and his significant other Andrea Falcone of Lexington MA, Julie Powers-Candelmo and her spouse Kim Candelmo of Westbrook, Amy L. Powers, and her significant other Michael Landry, of Wilbraham MA, and Pamela J. Powers-Scala, and her husband Dino of Bridgton, her grandchildren Nicolas, Nina, Alison, Steven, John, Nikki, Mason, Ben, Laney, Cooper, and Charlotte, her great grandson Colton, and her siblings, Patricia Cherniske, Gail Ferraro, and Timothy Cherniske.
She was predeceased by two brother, William Cherniske, and Donald Cherniske.
