

Pauline A, Patten, 89 years old, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010. Formerly of 27 Cobbert Rd., Portland she had been a resident since March 2009 at Mount St. Joseph in Waterville Maine.
She was born in Presque Isle on November 2, 1920, the daughter of Walter J. and Affa (Donaghy) McCarty. She graduated from Hallowell High School in 1939.
On June 26, 1943 she married Richard C. Patten, a World War II veteran. They were married 59 years before Richard passed away in March 2003.
Mrs. Patten was a resident of Augusta and employed by Bates Mfg. Co., Augusta, for 24 years. In 1966, when her husband was transferred, they moved to Portland where she was employed by Casco Northern Bank for 16 years. She retired in 1982.
Pauline was a member of Woodfords Congregational Church UCC, K.D.’s Club and Women’s Woodfords Club.
She was predeceased by her husband: sister, Christine Davis, Winthrop and brother, Walter W. McCarty, Vassalboro. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family appreciates the excellent care given to Pauline by everyone on the Memory Lane unit at Mount St. Joseph and the staff of Beacon Hospice.
A committal service will be held on Saturday, October 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the family lot in Mount Hope Cemetery, Augusta.
A memorial service will follow at Jones, Rich and Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Carolyn Lambert officiating.
