Peter Joseph Conforti

Peter Joseph Conforti, 73 passed away May 13, 2025 after a period of declining health. He was born in Manchester, N.H. a son of Andrew and Mary Craig Conforti. Peter was educated at St. Francis College in Biddeford, University of New Hampshire and graduated with a masters degree in business science from Husson College, Bangor. He had managed many Hannaford stores throughout Maine until he bought the Pond Cove IGA in Cape Elizabeth in 1986. He sold the store in 2021 and retired. Following his retirement he spent his winters in St. Petersburg, Fl. Peter loved to cook, golf, fish and entertain family and friends and spent many years enjoying his boat the “Walrus”. He was “the best man on the planet” and lived life to the fullest.

Peter was loved by everyone and had the best sense of humor and smile. He was known for being thoughtful and generous. His family and friends meant the world to him. He was great with one liners, a true wise guy who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Peter was a very astute businessman and was always planning ahead. His favorite quotation was “the Law of the seven P’s which is Prior Proper Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly of Portland, step-daughter, Sara Guenther of Cape Elizabeth, sisters, Anne (Chichi) and Jay Brack of Rye, N.H., Catherine and William Graham of Hampton, N.H., Elizabeth and Gary LaFlamme of Englewood, Fl., Andrea and William Jennings of Manchester, N.H., Patricia and Lance Cramer, Hampton, N.H., Margaret and David North of Scarborough, Me. Mary Jo and Patrick Houghton of Portsmouth, N.H. and brother William and Joan Conforti of Hampton, N.H., in laws Bud and Alice Olsen of Cape Elizabeth and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
