

Fryeburg, Maine-Ralph E. Davis age 94 of Westbrook passed away on June 25, 2015 at Fryeburg Healthcare Center with his family by his side. He was born in South Portland, Maine on March 17, 1921 the son of the late Samuel and Alma J. ( Marston) Davis. He worked as a supervisor for Burnham and Morrill Co. and retired after 38 years. He was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army Battery B 110TH Antiaircraft Artillery Gun Battalion. Ralph served in all 6 European Campaigns. He was awarded 6 campaign stars and one service arrowhead. Ralph was a Master Mason at Deering Lodge #183 in Portland, Maine for 58 years. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows at Presumpscot Lodge #91 in Falmouth, Maine for 55 years. Ralph enjoyed hunting, fishing, daily walks, dancing, bowling, practicing tai chi, watching the Boston Red Sox games, and singing country music while playing his accordion, harmonica, and guitar. Ralph’s utmost pleasure was spending many hours playing cribbage with his beloved granddaughter Jennifer.

Ralph was predeceased by his wife Lucille, a son Steven, a daughter Donna DeClaro, nine brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by a son, Alan Davis and his wife Kathie of East Fryeburg, Maine, a stepdaughter Arlene Dyer and her husband Bill of Bridgton, Maine, two sisters Irene Gilpatric of Gorham, Maine and Geraldine Cyr of Warwick, Rhode Island, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday July 1, 2015 from 10:00AM to 12:00PM in the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Portland, Maine. A Masonic service will be conducted at 11:00AM by the Deering Lodge #183 Portland, Maine. Immediately following visitation, a graveside service will be held in the South Buxton Cemetery 1187 River Road in Buxton, Maine with Rev. Phil Shearman officiating.
