

PORTLAND -- Robert A. Bailey, 56, of Portland, died on Friday after a brief illness.
He was born in Portland on April 12, 1954, the son of Stanley M. and Nancy White Bailey. Robbie was predeceased by his father and his brother, William M. Bailey. He attended Portland schools, graduating from Deering High School in 1972.
Bob had been in the auto parts business for over 30 years, working at Auto wise, Big A, Car Quest, White Rock Outboard and finally Rowe Ford in Westbrook. He was a member of several bowling leagues, golf leagues and the Eagles Club. He was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots Fan.
Robbie is survived by his mother, Nancy A. Bailey of Scarborough; a daughter, Julie Kimball and her husband Kamron of Corinna, and a son, Brian Bailey of San Diego, Calif. He also is survived by two granddaughters, Kendall and Khloe Kimball of Corinna; two sisters, Ann M. Farr and her husband Frank of Milford, N.H., and Betsy B. Hamm and her husband Tim of Scarborough; his uncle, Donald White; several nieces and nephews; and his good friend, Donna Morehead of Gorham. Bongo also leaves behind many close lifelong friends and a cat named Orange.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Monday, Oct. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 5, at 1 p.m., in Brooklawn Memorial Park, Portland.
