It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Shane Laine Pottle, of Mechanic Falls, who was tragically taken from this World as a result of the injuries sustained in a traffic accident on May 9, at the age of 29.
Shane was born on May 16, 1996, in Augusta, Maine. He spent his early childhood years in the town of China. He moved to Gorham in 2005 where he attended middle school and graduated from Gorham High School in 2014.
On July 10, 2022, after finding their way back to each other, Shane married his High School Sweetheart Haylie. In February, 2025, they “bought their dogs a yard” in Mechanic Falls where they have built a beautiful oasis for their Family.
Shane loved spending time with his Family and Friends, especially sharing tender moments with Haylie and their precious Amelia. He loved to attend Family gatherings, eager to enjoy sunny days sharing laughter and celebrating countless occasions. He loved spending special moments with Nana and Dante, always reaching out with words of kindness and love. His love for animals was endless. He enjoyed spending unlimited hours playing with his dogs and cats. They brought joy to his life.
Shane’s infectious smile made others feel happy and loved. He had the ability to make others laugh so hard that they would be out of breath and on the verge of tears. He touched the lives of anyone he came in contact with. If you were lucky enough to be on the receiving end of one of his bear hugs, you could feel his warmth, yearning for more as he would tell you he loved you the most.
He leaves behind the love of his life, Haylie Pottle, and their baby Amelia.
He is survived by his parents, Kurt and Kristi Albert, his sister Caitlin Tremberth, her husband Andy, and their children Vivian, Thomas, and Blake, his brother Chris Albert and his wife Brenna, his brother Seth Albert, his wife Emily, and their daughter Grace, his Nana Karlene Farrell and her son Dante, his Grammie Edna Albert, his Nana Marian Gower, his Aunt Bobbi Jo and Uncle Ricky, his Aunt Devon and Uncle Adam, his Mother In-Law Kristin Howard and her children Wyatt, Aubrey, and Mariah whom he considered siblings, his Grammie Wendy Campbell, his Aunt Melissa and Uncle Eric Wentworth, his cousin Chevelle and his niece Wren, his closest friends Sam, Nick, and Allie, his best friend from childhood Becca, and so many other Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins that impacted his life, work families at Texas Instruments and the Ramada Inn, his dogs Oliver, Sullivan, and Vinny, and his cats Cheese and Benji.
He was preceded in death by Grampie Camille Albert, Grandpa Lucky Tim Farrell, Grandpa Norman Pottle, and Aunt Cindy Albert-Ames.
