Lorrayne was born August 28, 1923 in Wyndmere, North Dakota to Myrtle and George Mathiesen. Her childhood was spent with her sister Evangeline and brother Elden living on the family farm in Wyndmere. After high school, Lorrayne attended cosmetology school and became a hairdresser for many years.
She married Roy Albert Williams and as a result of that marriage had three sons, Paul, Todd and Del.
After divorcing, Lorrayne relocated her beloved father George from Wyndmere to Portland and became his caregiver for the remaining years of his life. She worked for many years at Employer’s Insurance of Wausau as a supervisor in the records department and still has many special friendships as a result of that employment. Lorrayne was also a past president of the VFW and a long standing member of the Lutheran Church.
Lorrayne was reunited with and married to her high school sweetheart, Ross James Jensen. Eventually, they relocated to Arizona where they lived happily until Ross’s death in 2001. These were some of Lorrayne’s happiest times, laughing, loving and travelling with her best friend.
Lorrayne is survived by her sons Paul (Julie) and Todd (Laurel), three grandsons and a granddaughter. She would also want to recognize Ray Liu as her “adopted son” and counted Ray and his family among her favorite people.
She is preceded in death by her son Del, husband Ross, her mother and father, sister and brother.
Lorrayne was fortunate to have many special caregivers in the last several years of her life. While we don’t know each of their names, we know she would want to thank each and every one of them for their thoughtfulness and support in the last years of her life.
