

Billie Jean “BJ” (Brown) Lundberg, 75, formerly of Pine Bluffs, WY, passed away on September 24, 2025, in Beaverton, OR. She enjoyed an active childhood in Pine Bluffs, especially 4-H, where she excelled in clothing and horse categories. An accomplished horsewoman, Billie competed in barrel racing and pole bending at local rodeos. She was honored as Queen for the Pine Bluffs Teenage Rodeo in 1967 and the “Fairest of the Fair” for the Laramie County Fair in 1968. In 1970, she was an attendant to the Queen of the University of Wyoming Rodeo. Billie and her sisters rode side saddle in the Pine Bluffs and Cheyenne Frontier Days parades, wearing beautiful outfits handmade by their mother to honor the family’s tradition.
Billie graduated from Pine Bluffs High School as valedictorian of her class. She earned a bachelor’s degree at University of Wyoming College of Agriculture in Animal Husbandry, with a minor in Statistics and Economics, and worked for the Wyoming Department of Agriculture.
Billie met her lifelong love, Jeff Lundberg of Albin, WY, and married in 1975. They settled in Albin before moving to Cheyenne, where they became passionate UW football fans, attending games and enjoying travel together. She managed the family ranch and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Burns Eastern Star Chapter.
Billie is survived by her five siblings: Wally Brown of Anchorage, AK; Leola White of Beaverton, OR; twins Sheila Vella of Lancaster, WI, and Sheirlie (Del) Prophet of Salina, KS; and (Helen) Joyce (Gary) McDuffie of Scottsbluff, NE. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews and many great grands. Billie was preceded in death by her husband Jeff in 2003, her parents Sheirl and Lura Brown, and brothers-in-law Bruce White, Nick Vella, and Terry Ferguson.
Billie was cremated and her ashes will be scattered alongside those of her parents on the family ranch in Pine Bluffs at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Burns Eastern Star Scholarship Fund at PO Box 339, Burns, WY 82053.
