Born October 31, 1932 in Ontonogan, Michigan. Married to Donald Thomas Manion M.D. Her husband passed away in May of 1991. She is survived by her 9 children, 25 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Bonnie was a nurse who met her husband at Marquette University while studying in a master’s program in nursing. They move to Portland, OR where Donald was offered a residency position at St. Vincent’s Hospital then located in NW Portland. Bonnie was a founder of Birthright in Portland and the wife of a founder of Right to Life in Oregon and was responsible for saving countless unborn babies. The Right to Life office was in their home in Raleigh Hills for several years and they cared for many unwed mothers there too. Bonnie was a great homemaker and an excellent cook in the spirit of Julia Child and James Beard.
