

Chou was born in 1930 in a small town in Hupeh China. His thirst for knowledge drove him to the big city to study at an early age. After the Chinese Civil War, he came to Taiwan, where he met his wife. They were married for more than fifty years. Chou earned a master’s degree from the Sun Yat-sen Institute at the National Taiwan Normal University and a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Literature at Chinese Culture University. He taught Chinese and the Three Principles of the People at Taipei Municipal Da’an Vocational High School. He was very popular among his students and helped shape the lives of countless young people.
Chou was wise, kind, articulate, and well-read. He helped many friends by writing letters and assisting with financial planning and wealth management. Many people held him in high regard. While at Da’an Vocational High School, he also served as the director of student discipline, earning great respect from his colleagues. He frequently helped his colleagues solve problems and offered kind and reasonable advice.
Chou liked to travel and hike. He visited widely within Taiwan, often taking his family on trips. He also explored the natural scenery in China, Southeast Asia, and the United States.
Chou was talented, versatile, and creative. He was also an excellent cook - a caring husband who often made delicious meals for his family.
Chou placed great importance on education, always encouraging his children to read and expand their knowledge. He himself was an avid reader and a lifelong learner. He enjoyed reading classical Chinese literature, memorized Tang poetry, and continued to learn English. He kept up with the latest technology trends and was good at using computers and smartphones. He cared about world news and embraced new knowledge. His commitment to continuous learning is something we should all strive to emulate.
Chou is survived by his wife, Fu-Jung Liu, two daughters, Chelsea Chia-chen and Jessica Chiatai, their husbands Hans Han-pu Tung and Tom Chau, and two grandchildren. He will always reside in our hearts, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us.
