Courtney was born in Metairie, Louisiana, where he spent much of his youth and early adulthood. He graduated from Ponchatoula High School and after moving to Portland, he went on to receive a MBA from Marylhurst College. His career was spent in professional and business banking where he served as Vice President for Bank of America and later First Citizens Bank in the Portland area.
Courtney had a passion for the culinary arts; he enjoyed creating his “famous” dishes for his loved ones. He also loved traveling, driving around and enjoying the scenic routes for day adventures, painting, and gardening. His greatest love, however, was spending time with those whom he held close to his heart. His family, friends, and miniature poodle, Demi meant the world to him.
Courtney was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Elvige Clouatre, and Hurless Clouatre Sr., and his mother Marcia Cheramy. He is survived by his father, Hurless Clouatre Jr., stepfather David Cheramy, sisters Chelsea Clouatre, Cayla Lemons, Michelle Paille, and his poodle, Demi. He is also survived by many cousins and other family members that loved and will cherish the memories they shared.
Donations can be made in lieu of flowers in Courtney’s name to the Trevor Project via TheTrevorProject.org
