

Daniel was born in Los Angeles, California at White Memorial Hospital on August 8, 1962, to his parents Lionel and Anna Johnson.
Daniel moved to Oregon in 1975 and graduated from Wilson High School in 1980. He attended Mount Hood Community College, was trained in the Air Force Fire and Rescue Program, and was a graduate of the Oregon Military Academy. Daniel became an Oregon State Police Trooper and served as a Military Police Officer in Iraq from April 2003 to May 2004. He received an Honorable Discharge and numerous honors: Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (two times), Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Meritorious Device, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Bar (two times) and Air Force Training Ribbon.
Daniel was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Johnson, and is survived by his wife Yollanda Nins Johnson of Portland Oregon, stepdaughters, Aundria Edwards, Tiffany Nins and Arrianna Moody, stepson Gregory Knight, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Daniel leaves behind his sons Samuel Johnson, Ethan Johnson, and Paul Johnson, his daughter Candace Johnson, as well as his former wife Rita Johnson. Daniel is also survived by his father, Lionel Gentry Johnson, stepmother Zana Johnson, brother Hosea Johnson of Alabama, and sister, Zanette Johnson.
