Dan was a lifelong ballroom dancer, who loved to teach dance. He was once described as a "legend" in the local Argentine tango community. He was also a member of the Laurelhurst Dance Club and of the Elks lodges in Vancouver and Gresham. When he wasn't dancing, Dan loved playing cards, rolling 10,000 dice and watching "his" birds.
Dan was a gifted woodworker and carver. He loved spending time in his home shop where he helped numerous grandchildren with wood projects over the years and where he designed the special Santa Clauses, cribbage boards and shadow boxes, which he gifted to family and friends.
He traveled extensively over his lifetime, starting with his Army Service in Germany after high school. He especially looked forward to long winter trips to Melaque, Mexico with Judy and to his annual camping trip with his daughter Laurie.
Dan and Judy enjoyed sharing a large blended family including 5 children and their spouses, 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
He will be missed.
