Darlene Joy (Miller) Thornton

Darlene was born on March 28, 1933 to Russell and Josephine (Norman) Miller in Mitchell, Nebraska.

After the family moved to Oregon, Darlene was a graduate of Franklin High School. She was married to Lonnie Ray Thornton on October 11, 1952. Besides having a big family Darlene worked for Tektronix Company with a career in electronics. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and cake decorating.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Russell and Josephine Miller, her husband Lonnie Thornton and son Rick Thornton.

Darlene is survived by her son David Thornton; her daughter Deborah Franklin; her daughter Darla Thornton; her son Russell Thornton; and her son Michael Thornton; her brother Richard Miller, her sister Sue Whitford, her brother David Miller and her sister Janette Wornstaff; her grandchildren Kurt, Julie, Michelle, James, Charlene, David Jr., Heather, Erin, Danny, Stephanie, Nickoluss, Emmalee and several great grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services - Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes, 1515 NE 106th Ave, Portland, OR 97220.
