Don was my mentor teacher at Sellwood Middle School .He was the team leader and I taught in afternoons. He was the hardest working person I knew, he was always coming up with new ideas to challenge students in a fun way. He taught me so much , I will be forever grateful. Don was also the kindest person and went the extra mile to understand students who struggled either academically or emotionally. He will be missed.

Had the pleasure of being Don's neighbor for 35 years. Also worked with him at Sellwood Middle School until he retired. An amazing neighbor, educator and friend. Many wonderful memories of him on the roof, even when it wasn't in his best interested. To walking everyday to McDonalds to get his cup of coffee. Rest in Peace Don.

Don (AKA Poppy, and Dad #2 as he called himself) was a wonderful father in law to me.  I am truly grateful for everything he and Janet did for me, but most of all the kind of grandparents they were to my children.  He has left a huge void in our lives, and will be greatly missed.  He is by far the best man I have ever known and I am a better person because of his influence.
