

Doris Allene Hill, age 86, of Portland, OR Passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday August 15, 2017. Doris was born October 15, 1930 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Walter and May Rogers. Doris married Curtis Hill in 1948-1954 and later married Jack Cuie in 1971- 1978, both ending in divorce. She had a career as an Employment Development Specialist for the State of Oregon Employment Office for over 30 years. Doris was very active in the Senior Sneakers Club – Fitness for Senior Citizens and had many passions including, walking and working out at the gym, cooking and baking, putting puzzles together, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, watching movies and sewing. Doris loved spending time with family and friends and loved meeting new people. She truly enjoyed meeting new people and getting to know them. Doris was known for her kindness, strong work ethic and love for her family. Survived by sons Donald Hill, James Hill (Cindy), sisters Linna Carswell, Ellen Ballard, Lettie Rogers, grandchildren Jill Bookman, Dennis Bookman, Darren Hagood, Tina Hagood, Nathaniel Hill, Lindsay Hill, Spencer Hill, and 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and extended family. Preceded in death by daughter Ruby Hill, brothers Grover Rogers and Roger Rogers, sisters Lula Taylor and Joann Parnell, and her parents Walter and Mae Rogers. A celebration of her life will be held at 2 pm Saturday October 28, 2017 at the Ross Hollywood Chapel4733 NE Thompson Street Portland, OR 97213.
