Doris Louise Rees Kuntz

The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on March 2nd at Lincoln Memorial Park Funeral Home located at 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd in Portland. Rev. Brian Craker will be officiating.

Doris was born in Miami County, Indiana on November 12, 1924, and was the second child of four of Horace and Ethel Cook. She graduated from Butler Township High School near Peru Indiana.

She married Lawrence (Larry) Rees of Amboy Indiana on July 26, 1944 and they then promptly moved to Portland Oregon. They were married 35 years before his passing in February, 1979. His career was as a Portland Police Officer. In January, 2000 Doris married Richard Kuntz, a retired Portland Police Officer, who passed away in January 2014.

Doris began work as a temporary nonsworn Records Division clerk in the Portland Police Department in 1949 and retired 37 years later in 1986 as the Portland Police Records Division Manager. Until recent years she was an active member of Mt. Scott Chapter #110, Order of Eastern Star, Lynwood Friends Church, and served on the Board of Directors of the Portland Police Retired Officers Association.

Doris is survived by her son, Roger Rees, and his wife JoAnn, one granddaughter, Charlyn Palmer and her husband, Jason, and an older sister, Ruth Hunt in Indiana.
