Dorothy was born into a generation shaped by resilience, loyalty, and community. In 1946, she married the love of her life, Edward Milberger, in Klickitat, Washington.
Their marriage became a lifelong partnership rooted in devotion, humor, and shared purpose. Dorothy and Ed remained happily married for 65 years, until Ed’s passing in October 2011—a bond that endured through decades of change and adventure.
Together, Dorothy and Ed touched countless lives through their deep involvement with the Golden Gloves Boxing Division of Oregon. Their commitment went far beyond the ring; they fostered discipline, confidence, and opportunity for generations of young athletes, leaving a lasting imprint on the Oregon boxing community and all who knew them.
Dorothy, a devoted wife and a Gold Star Mom, now joins her beloved husband Edward Milberger and her son Russell Milberger, reunited in peace after a life richly lived and deeply loved.
She is survived by her daughter, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, each carrying forward her strength, wit, and unmistakable spark.
A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on February 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Milwaukie American Legion, 2145 SE Monroe Street, Milwaukie, Oregon 97222.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of our rock n’ roll Grandma—a woman of grace, grit, and enduring love whose legacy will continue to echo through the lives she shaped.
