HM3 Dylan Jackson Carpenter

Dylan was born on December 22, 1986 in Santa Cruz, California. He grew up in the Portland area and graduated from Milwaukie High School in 2005. He married Odessa Coulter on September 19, 2009 in Portland, Oregon.

Dylan enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served as a Corpsman attached to 1st Marine Division Detachment in Twentynine Palms, California, where he was stationed for nearly 2 years.

Dylan was friendly, kind hearted and had a contagious smile. He had a passion for music and loved spending time at Joshua Tree National Park. He also loved animals. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Odessa of Portland, daughter, Meredith Potter of Washington, mother Julie Howard of Portland, sister, Reanna Howard of Portland and Grandma Patty DiPasquale of Portland.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 11:00 am at Ross Hollywood Chapel in Portland. Interment with military honors will follow at Willamette National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Oregon Humane Society. Ross Hollywood Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
