Elisabeth “Betty” Anderson passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, at the age of 88. She was born and raised in Heidelberg, Germany, and attended Heidelberg University before fate brought her together with the love of her life, Myron Bevans Anderson. While stationed at an army base nearby, Myron saw Betty, followed her, and asked her out. From that moment, they began a love story that lasted over 47 years, until Myron’s passing in 2002.
Throughout her life, Betty worked in a variety of roles—from a flower farm to stenography, architectural design development, and insurance adjusting. She believed in something greater and carried her faith quietly. While connected to the New Apostolic Church, Betty’s deepest beliefs were in loving others, helping without question, and sharing what she had with anyone in need.
She found joy in cooking for others, tending her garden, drawing, and losing herself in the pages of a good book. To know her was to be fed, helped, and deeply cared for. She never hesitated to give—especially to anyone in need. Betty would want us to remember her with a smile: to live life fully, be good to one another, and always share food with all.
She is survived by Matt Anderson, Steven Anderson, Phyllisia Anderson, Michael Anderson, Austin Anderson, and many dear friends.
A memorial service to honor Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Lincoln Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
In memory of Betty’s generous spirit and her lifelong habit of giving to anyone who asked, please consider making a donation to a local children’s hospital. It’s a gesture that would carry forward the kindness she so effortlessly gave to others.
