

Elizabeth Evans Chambless, 71, of Beaverton, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2010 in Beaverton. She was born in Sidon, Mississippi on March 3, 1939 to the late Edward & Myrle Evans. She played piano in her church when she was young, and attended the same high school as her future husband, Lewis Chambless. After they were married, Elizabeth and Lewis lived in many different places due to his being stationed in the United States Army, Panama among them. She was a Life Member Bridge player, and travelled to play in diferent tournaments. She even played with famous actor and bridge player, Omar Sharif.
Elizabeth was a talented Interior Designer, even winning the "Best in Show" in 1986, while living in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a fabulous cook, a gracious host and brilliant entertainer. She always maintained a loving home for her family and friends alike. She was the 'Gold Standard' that others acheived to be. Her husband always referred to her as a movie star and the 'Golden-haired Goddess of Sidon." She is deeply loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is suvived by her three daughters, Margaret Barry Panzer of Beaverton, OR, Beth Kirk and her husband Greg of Oregon, and Amanda Chambless and her husband Pat Simpson of Denton, Texas, and her beloved "son" Douglas Panzer; three grandchildren, Evan, Lewis and Jenny; three great grandchildren, Gavin, Brice, and Aron. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lewis Chambless in 2008.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 12:30pm in the chapel at Lincoln Memorial Park Funeral Home, Portland, Oregon. Interment will follow at 1:30pm at Willamette National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband, Lewis.
