

Elizabeth Alberta Fishbach (Lemmon) was born on November 30, 1918 in Norfolk, Nebraska. She passed away November 18th , just 12 days short of her 100th birthday. She attended Norfolk Senior High School and was a member of the National Honor Society.
She attended Doane College in Nebraska for general studies and journalism. She then held a position at Huse Publishing Co. (Norfolk Daily News) as proofreader and other news-related jobs.
She completed a course in Laboratory Technique at Gradwohl School of Laboratory and X-Ray Technique in 1941 and became a lab technician. She worked for the war department at McClellan Field during WWII.
She married Ellard Lemmon in 1948 and settled in Portland Oregon. They raised three children (Charles, Catherine, Joanne) in the same home for 50 years. She was widowed in 1990.
Elizabeth volunteered for Adventist Health Hospice in 1992-2004 with 2600 hours of service.
Elizabeth is a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Portland. She is listed as United Methodist Women President in 1972-73 and was recipient of special recognition in that listing. She was a member of Ruth’s Circle and in 2000-2001 was in charge of the Reading Program and was Chair of Special Mission Recognition. She was awarded a Certificate of Recognition in 2006 for the Reading Program.
There will be a memorial service at First United Methodist Church in the chapel on December 7th at 1:00pm with refreshments to follow.
