Ella Lydia Rieger

February 19, 1924-March 8, 2021

Ella Lydia (Huber) Rieger born February 19, 1924 in Carson, N.D., passed March 8, 2021 at the age of 97 in Milwaukie, Oregon. Her husband Gideon passed in August of 2009. Ella was the sixth of ten children born to Jacob and Sophie Huber. Ella and Gideon had three children, Tim, Denise (Ryerson), and Jeff. Ella is survived by her three children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two brothers, Elmer of Oklahoma and Wilbert of North Dakota.

After Gideon's return from military service at the end of WW2, Ella married Gideon on Nov 28, 1946 and enjoyed sixty-two years of marriage before Gideon's passing in 2009.

Ella was employed by Sears Roebuck Co. in her younger years but primarily devoted herself to family and church. She was a faithful member of the First Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Portland, OR for over sixty years.

She loved her Lord and had a kind and gentle heart. She always enjoyed conversation and meeting new people. She will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. Gideon's passing was a great sorrow but she knew they would eventually be reunited. She told us she had lived a good life and was ready to go whenever our Lord called her. It is with sadness we grieve her passing but with joy that we look forward to eternity where we will meet again.

A private graveside service of immediate family and internment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
