Ethelyn was born in Portland, Oregon to Roy and Sarah Mishler on June 10, 1932. She was welcomed by her siblings, Marjorie, Gail, and Gene, and eventually, Sally and Diane were added to complete the family.
The family moved to Orenco, Oregon where Ethelyn attended grade school and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1950. This is where she met her future husband, Conrad Sproul, in 1949.
After graduation, she went to work in the Washington County Clerk’s office. She later moved into a successful lifetime legal career, retiring in 1984.
Her most treasured accomplishment was the raising of 4 children, William, Marie, Connie Jean, and Gerald, and later in life, welcoming 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Ethelyn is survived by her husband, Conrad Sproul, and a sister, Sally Heinrich, as well as all 4 children.
Ethelyn lived a long, caring, and meaningful life and was loved and respected by all.
A funeral service for Ethelyn will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 10:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 17234 SW Meinecke Rd, Sherwood, OR 97140. A reception will follow.
Flowers can be sent directly to the church, arriving on the day of the funeral only please.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Portland Rescue Mission or Oregon Food Bank.
