Faith Nadine Peery was born to Everett David and Lorys Nadine Peery on February 20, 1944, in Dayton, Washington. Immediately afterward her father was shipped to England to serve in WWII. Her mother and maternal grandmother took her to live in Weiser, Idaho, her father’s hometown. While her Nana cared for her, Faith’s mother taught school in Weiser until WWII ended. After the war, she moved with her parents to Caldwell, Idaho and then to Eugene, Oregon so her father could complete his education. When she was eight years old the family moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon. Faith sang solos and was a member of a number of church and school choirs in elementary, middle and high schools, and she continued to sing in churches and community choirs throughout her life.
Faith graduated from Klamath Union High School in 1962. After attending one year at the University of Oregon, Faith moved with her family to Billings, Montana where she completed her bachelor of Science degree in Special Education at Eastern Montana College. Between her junior and senior years, she married Donald Gottfred Hoffman, a music major at EMC who was teaching in Billings. During these years Faith was active in the Christian Churches in both communities. Following her graduation from EMC Don and Faith moved back to Don’s hometown, Richey, Montana. They taught there and were leaders in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for eight years. Their first daughter, Kimberly Anne was born in 1970. In 1974, Don and Faith moved to Milwaukie, Oregon to become a part of the family music equipment manufacturing company, Peery Products Company. They operated PPC from 1985 until Don’s death in 2005. Their second daughter, Kathryn Annette was born in 1980. After that, they were lay leaders in Oregon City Church of the Nazarene. Faith kept their home in Milwaukie until June of 2014. Then she moved to Oregon City, where she quickly slipped into ministry at Oregon City Evangelical Church. Faith had been battling breast cancer since 2006.
