Born on April 24, 1948, in Portland, Oregon, Gail was the daughter of George and Hazel Ballinger and the older sister of Sharon (Ballinger) Henrie. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Curtis Henrie; her niece and nephews, Michelle Teskey (Patrick), Wayne Henrie (Jenna), and Steve Henrie (Cindy), as well as their children.
Gail earned her Master of Science degree in Business Education from Brigham Young University and enjoyed a successful career in technical writing. A lifelong learner, she loved to read and write, and she dedicated much of her spare time to these pursuits. Gail was also passionate about family history—compiling and writing cherished family stories—and she had a deep affection for Disneyland, frequently serving as a tour guide for friends and family. Her hobbies included embroidery, sewing, and watching football.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gail was known for her warm spirit and her commitment to service. Having lived in Oregon, California, and Utah, she made lasting friendships in every community and touched many lives with her kindness and support.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the Bernina Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah, with burial scheduled for March 5, 2025, in Portland, Oregon.
