George John Churchill

He was a lifelong Oregon native born and raised. He was the eldest son of Merrill and Mary Churchill, born on June 26, 1925.

At a young age, George became a primary caretaker for his family after the passing of his father. He began working various jobs to help support his family before he was drafted to serve in the United States Army during World War II.

George married his beloved wife, Helen “Joyce” Long in February of 1944. The two shared 62 loving years of marriage together before Joyce’s passing in 2006.

George had a successful 39 year career working as the Warehouse Manager for Goodyear Tires. He had a passion for gardening and enjoyed many outdoor activities.

George is preceded in death by his son, Merrill; wife, Helen Joyce; brother, Jim; and sister, Betty. He is survived by his children, George Churchill and Laurie Churchill; Grandchildren Kimberly Bowden, Melinda Cook, Shannon Roemer, Kevin Churchill, and Stephanie Silfer; and siblings Merrill, Richard, and Jeannette.

Funeral Services will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 11:00am.
