George "Brian" Drake was born November 30, 1939 in Portland, Oregon to George Lewis Drake and Bessie Jane (Portugue) Drake. He passed away peacefully in Portland, Oregon on November 30, 2011 in Portland, Oregon. His 72nd Birthday.
Brian was a true cowboy at heart; loving horses, rodeos, cowboy gard and western movies. He knew the names of all the cowboys and their horses, dogs and sidekicks. One of his favorite sayings was "You bet your boots!" It was always a pleasure to hear him say "Hi Slim!" He brought light and cheerfulness into everyone's life and was famous for telling his friends and neighbors that they were "Good and Liked." Caretakers remarked that they received more from Brian than they gave.
Brian is survived by his Sister; Karen Russo, Nephews; Robert Russo and William Russo, Great Nephews; Matthew Russo and Cameron Russo and Great Niece; Trinity Russo. He also leaves behind Leonard and Melva Murphy, long time friends and caretakers. As Brian was in care centers most of his life, he leaves behind many friends and caretakers. Brian was preceded in death by his Parents and his Sister LaRayne.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Marquis Care at Powellhurst, 13033 SE Holgate, Portland, Oregon.
