

Geraldine “Gerry” Marie Albrich was born on September 8, 1927 in Portland Oregon to John and Mary (Jurich) Medak. She passed away peacefully at her home in Portland on July 22, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
While growing up in Portland Gerry attended Assumption Grade School and then went on to St. Mary’s Academy, the 1st school in the State of Oregon. In 1947 she married the love of her life Richard E. Albrich with whom she had four children. Gerry was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church for over 50 years until her health prevented her from attending.
She was a loving mother and a dedicated homemaker. Gerry was always eager to bring the family together for holiday celebrations and very much enjoyed baking wonderful treats for her children and grandchildren. She was famous for her Christmas cookies and traditional Easter bread which everyone looked forward to year after year.
Gerry was a shopaholic at heart, she loved her weekly trips to the Clackamas Town Center to buy new shoes and catch the great sales. When she wasn’t beach camping for her vacation she was often found traveling to Reno to test her luck at the casinos.
She is predeceased by her parents John and Mary Medak, her husband Richard Albrich and her brothers Charles Medak and John Medak.
Gerry is survived by her four children Karin (Kurt) Kamhoot, David Albrich, William Albrich and Richard Albrich. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Her family would like to extend their gratitude to Kaiser Permanente Hospice for their compassionate care during a difficult time.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes, 1515 NE 106th Avenue, Portland, OR 97220.
