

Maxine was born on February 8, 1926 to Harold and Helen (Hirsch) Roos. She was a 1944 graduate of Park Rose High School. Maxine married William Schneider on June 11 1948. She managed their apartment properties and also served as a volunteer in the Providence Hospital print shop for fifteen years.
Maxine and her family enjoyed boating on the Columbia river and camping, especially their summer trips to Pelton Dam and the Round Butte area. She waterskied, walked her beloved big dogs, and enjoyed league bowling until quite late in her life. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cribbage with friends and her daily breakfast or lunch meetings at the Pig ‘N Pancake.
She will be remembered as so important to her family’s lives, especially her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Schneider was preceded in death by her husband Bill, and by a son, Ric Schneider.
She will be missed by two children, Barb Hammock of Bend, Oregon and Judy Manning and husband Rick of Damascus, Oregon; five grandchildren, Erich Schneider, Will Hammock, Travis, Schneider, Jen Cornella, and Nikki Manning; and by two great-grandchildren, Alex and Emily.
In lieu of flowers the family would be grateful for donations in Maxine’s name to the Oregon Humane Society.
A graveside service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, July 7 at 11 AM at Lincoln Memorial Park, 11801 SE Mt. Scott Blvd in Portland.
