

A Celebration of Life for Clackamas resident James A. Avery will be held Sunday, November 14th, 2010 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home. Private entombment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park in Portland, Oregon. James was born November 29th, 1933 in Noble, IL the son of Albert and Flora Avery. He passed away November 8th, 2010 in Portland at the age of 76. He was raised and attended his schooling in Morengo, IL. At an early age he began working for several farms in the area, in January of 1952 he entered the United States Army where he served during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge in June of 1965 he returned to Rockford, IL where he began working in several local factories including the Gates Rubber Company and Brearly Manufacturing. While working for Brearly he met Josephine "Pinky" Lindquist and on June 13, 1970 they were married in Rockford. From 1985 until moving to Clackamas, Oregon in 1995 he worked for the Rockford Board of Education as a Janitor. In 1996 James began working as the Janitor for New Hope Community Church in Clackamas, retiring in 1999. In his spare time he enjoyed watching football and computer gaming. He is survived by his wife: Josephine of Clackamas, OR; Daughters: Barbara Lindquist and her husband Alex Molnar of Arizona, Celeste and husband Bill Graziano of Seattle, WA, Norma and husband Ken Wyly of Damascus, OR; Son: Joe Lindquist of Hillsboro, OR; Sister: Helen Wilson of Belvidere, IL; (9) grandchildren and (12) great grandchildren.
