A father, grandfather and great grandfather to all that needed one. Teaching all the kids he raised the difference from right and wrong and treating them as if they were is own. Telling some who didn't have grandparents "That's ok, I'll be your grandpa."
He is preceded by his parents: Joe Neuman, Frances Lee James-Bryson and John Bryson Sr. Also preceding in death is his sister Helen Neuman-Long, step-sister Barbra Bryson, one grandchild and 1 great-grandson, Damien Shuell. Anyone who knows Jim knows that he’s probably sitting on the banks teaching his grandchild and great-grandchild how to fish.
Surviving is one daughter: Tammy Neuman-Schweitzer, four step-sons: Gordon Hetrick, Gary, Larry & Anthony Wyttenbach, two step-daughters: Glorida Hetrick-Juden and Gayle Hetrick-Muralles.
Also surviving is one sister: Linda Neuman-Leete, one brother: Bill Neuman, three step-brothers: John, Don & Bill Bryson, three step-sisters: Marie Bryson-Brown, Bonnie Bryson-Sheridan and Donna Bryson--Unger, 17 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Jim served in the Navy from July 23, 1965 until he was medically discharged in June 1966. Jim was married to Kathryn Kristich from 1967—1971. He was then married to Kathryn Wyttenbach from 1977—1989 and finally he meet his life partner, Linda Hetrick and they were together from 1990—2011.
Jim was a man of many talents, holding jobs in logging, furniture mover/ long haul and landscaping. He was a man that loved being on the road and traveling across country. But enjoyed the times he got to be at home with his family. He also tried his hand in the “Bunny Business” with daughter Gayle, raising 50 bunnies, but never selling one. He seemed happiest when he could be out gardening and tending to his roses.
There were many sides to Jim that few really knew: His dark side was very dark at times, Loving side so caring for those he called family and friends, Gentle giant with a quiet side where you barely knew he was around and a laugh that you knew only belonged to Jim.
