

James D. O'Rear - JD
James Daniel "JD" O'Rear was born October 2, 1923 in Amoret,Missouri the son of Daniel Otis O'Rear and Cora Ethel (Fleming) O'Rear.
He spent his early years in Missouri until his family moved to Oregon. He graduated from high school in Gaston, Oregon.
He was a Veteran of the World War ll era, having joined the United States Navy on April 25, 1944. He served 26 months as a Fireman First Class on the destroyer U.S.S. Gatling until his discharge on June 17, 1946.
James was united in marriage to Alice H. Schatzman on May 31, 1947. They made their home in Cornelius, Oregon for 42 years until Alice's death on February 7, 1989.
He was later married to his current wife, Tillie Kohl , on April 25, 1992.
He worked at Forest Fiber on a hardboard press for 36 years until he retired in 1985.
Among his special interests were camping and fly fishing. He was active with the Cornelius Boosters and the Washington County Blueberry festival. He was a big supporter of the Olympics.
Survivors include his wife, Tillie O'Rear, his three children and their spouses, Lynda and John Martinez, of Aloha, Oregon, Daniel and Candis O'Rear, of Renton, Washington and Wyatt O'Rear of Tucson , Arizona. Brother Donald and Barbara O'Rear , of Cornelius, Oregon, sister Darlene and Milton Andersen of Oregon City, Oregon and Marge O'Rear of Dilley, Oregon.
Also surviving are his seven grandchildren, Jeffery O'Rear; Jeanette Lewis: Lee Martinez; Stacey Trost; Julie Martinez; Adam O'Rear; and Amy Jones.
And his nine great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 10:00 am in First Christian Church, 2231 19th Ave. in Forest Grove, OR with an interment to follow in Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, OR. Military Honors will be provided at the graveside by the U.S. Navy honors team.
The family suggest that remembrances may be contributions to First Christian Church, Forest Grove,OR, or Hospice Care of the Northwest.
