

Jean B. Hoglund (Lane) was born on April 14, 1925, in Duluth, Minnesota, to Josephine E. Lane and George A. Lane. She was the 15th born and the last surviving of 18 children. Jean was raised in Duluth, where she attended Adams Elementary and Denfeld High School.
As a young woman Jean joined the Navy WAVES and proudly served her country during WWII. In April 1945, she married Roy Hoglund in Duluth. Together they raised four children: Timothy, Gilbert, Jacqueline and Casey.
Jean passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025 at the age of 100, surrounded by family in the home she shared with her son Casey following the passing of her husband. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Devoted to her family, Jean stayed home to raise her children, hosting numerous family holidays and dinners. Once her children were grown, she rejoined the workforce.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, Roy; her parents Josephine and George; and all 17 of her siblings.
Jean is survived by her four children: Timothy(Kathleen), Gilbert(Michelle), Jacqueline(Mark Brown), and Casey.
Nine grandchildren: Francis, Andrew(Gisel), Paul, Colin(Hasanthi);
Nicole, Lane; Austin(Sarah), Ashley(Ethan); and Charlie.
Twelve great-grandchildren: Tristan, Ethan, Liam, Julian, Caleb; Owen, Braydon; Reuben, Eva, Lelia; Grey, and Atlas.
Jean is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members who loved and will miss her.
Her life was one of love and resilience – and she will be remembered always.
