On August 1, 1969 Joseph and Jeffrey – twins were born to the proud parents of Joe and Eloise Gibson. From that moment they were inseparable. Though they were fraternal twins (7 minutes apart) Jeffrey had his own unique way of communicating and displaying himself as an individual person. A lover of sports, he played football, basketball, and baseball, throughout his youth and adulthood. He was the all-American kind of guy! From the start of his education from Boise Elementary to Grant High School, Jeff displayed his athletic skillset with vigor. This would follow him throughout his life as he would later play for Terrell Brandon’s Mush Ball Team and become one of the Assistant Coach’s for Jefferson High school’s Football Team.
Jeffrey was no stranger to hard work, he held numerous jobs and positions at PDX under the employment of Prospect International Airport Services Corporation, where he took pride in making sure the planes, he was assigned to were in tip top shape according to FAA regulations.
After being diagnosed with congested heart failure, he was no longer able to maintain employment. But this didn’t stop him because he would share quality moments on a day to day or weekly basis at Argay Park with his crew chopping it up about life and the importance of family and holding it down.
Jeffrey adored his family and protecting them was something he did not take lightly! He was Uncle Jeffrey to his nieces and nephews and they knew they could depend on him to put an opponent in CHECK!! If need be. This protective nature would serve him well as he would become the father of four beautiful daughters as would so often call them his baby girls. Jeffrey’s infectious laughter/smile will be missed. Although he could go from zero to a hundred on you, he would also wrap his arms around you in a loving kind of way. He could never stay mad at anyone for long periods at a time, he felt that this would be time wasted when you could be showing the love of God instead.
His circle of influence was tremendous and he always tried to make himself available if you were in need no matter to what degree. He greeted everyone with a smile and a kind word. Jeffrey has left us all questioning our mortality and to realize how precious life is. He will indeed be greatly missed and never, never forgotten!
